Registered Massage TherapistKathryn Stephenson RMTAfter graduating from high school, Katie took some time to do some travelling. Upon returning, she decided to get a career, one thats becoming more recognized and respected in the medical community. Katie has always been interested in anatomy and physiology. Massage Therapy became a great opportunity to study and understand the human body in a more in depth way. Katie graduated from the Massage Therapy program with honours at Trillium College in October 2009. Katie believes that massage is very beneficial to ensuring optimal health of soft tissues of the body as well as having a reflexive effect on other body systems. Massage provides relief from acute and chronic conditions especially to those who actively choose to participate in understanding their own health and well being. Katie has an interest to specialize in prenatal massage. Studies have shown that massage during pregnancy can help to reduce anxiety, relieve muscle aches and tension due to musculoskeletal changes, improve lymph and blood circulation brought on by hormonal shifts throughout pregnancy, minimize joint pain, help decrease symptoms of depression and improve labour outcomes. If you feel that massage is something you may be interested in, feel free to call the clinic to ask any questions or to book an appointment and together we can begin working as a team to ensure the greatest possible results. |
